The kids felt safe to go down and order something if they were hungry. Downstairs is the Bistro and it offered a variety of foods and coffees. It was a gathering place to hang out and watch tv. The entire lobby area was welcoming with flat screen tv's, couches, and 2 sitting areas. The vibe of the hotel felt like a boutique hotel. The valet staff was so nice and cheerful about every departure and return that we didn't feel bad or guilty, so thank you. It was pouring rain, and we appreciated the fact that we didn't have to walk to get our car. But, valet said that we could come and go as many times as we wanted for that same price. Yes, valet was $21 per day, and we weren't thrilled about that. Like other reviewers, staff was nice, welcoming, and helpful from housekeeping, valet, to the front desk. great location, near downtown convention center and Arena District, and it was also off the beaten path, therefore less hectic. Courtyard Marriott offered us everything that we were looking for. However, it would have been a higher price point. The Le Meridian is in the heart and thick of it all and would have been a great option. We couldn't get into the hotels that were on High Street such as the Hilton and Hyatt, but they are also big, crowded, and hectic. The Arena District is bustling and clearly hosts many events. Downtown Columbus has an incredible vibe. we settled on Courtyard for 2 reasons, price point and availability. Other hotels that we considered were the Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton, and Le Meridian. :) We came into town for the junior national volleyball tournament held at the Columbus, Ohio Convention Center.
